FRACTURING MONITORING PROJECT OF A WELLIN THE SICHUAN BASIN

2025-11-11

Objective

To obtain the flow capacity, geometric characteristics, complexity, spatial distribution orientation of hydraulic fracturing-induced fractures in the shale formation, as well as the stimulated reservoir volume (SRV) contributing to enhanced oil and gas production. This information aims to guide further exploration and evaluation of shale gas reservoirs and the application of drilling and completion technologies within the prospect area.

Project Overview

The work area is located in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. The site features a complex environment including villages, farmland, small reservoirs, fish ponds, and a river traversing the area, all of which pose significant challenges to project construction.

Method

Microseismic monitoring was conducted using a scattered observation system with a longitudinal spacing of 900 meters and a transverse spacing of 1,000 meters, totaling 108 measurement points.

Equipment

130 units of Ant-3CN 2Hz nodal seismometers & 5 GNSS receivers
